Lorie Argus, Chair & Chief Executive Officer, APAC
Lorie was appointed CEO of Melbourne and Launceston Airport on July 1st 2022, after seven years as Chief of Aviation and Chief of Ground Transport, and was appointed as Board Chair for APAL in 2024.
With over 30 years in the industry, she’s known for her 'passenger first' approach. Originally from Canada, Lorie spent a decade at Virgin Australia, leading international and ground operations. She holds an Executive MBA from Bond University and is an Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) graduate.
Lorie actively contributes as a non-executive director of the Australian Airports Association, Airports Council International and Launceston Airport and is a proud member of Chief Executive Women and the Australian Institute of Directors.
High McKenzie, Non-Excutive Director
Hugh is the Deputy Mayor of Launceston and a non-executive director at Launceston Airport, where he previously served as Chair until 2024. With 24 years at KPMG, he brings deep business expertise.
He currently leads The Cape Hope Foundation and chairs boards at The Hobart Clinic and Tasmanian Irrigation. A passionate community advocate, Hugh also supports local initiatives through the Northern Suburbs Community Centre and has held leadership roles across health, education, youth services, and accounting bodies.
Ruth Martin, CFO & Executive Director, APAC
Ruth joined APAC as Chief Financial Officer in October 2023. She brings a wealth of experience and a strong commercial focus, having worked across a wide range of industries—including health, agriculture, technology, property, and infrastructure, including airports.
Before joining APAC, Ruth was the Group CFO at St Vincent’s Health Australia, where she helped navigate the financial challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Her previous roles include CFO positions at Ruralco Holdings Ltd, Microsoft Australia, and Sydney Airport Corporation, where she was deeply involved in complex projects such as corporatisation, privatisation, financing, and major infrastructure developments.
Ruth is a Chartered Accountant and began her career as a Principal at Ernst & Young. She brings a strong track record of strategic financial leadership and a passion for supporting organisations through growth and change.
